One last thing you want to consider doing while working abroad, particularly when working in Asian countries, is starting a business. The market in the region is really booming right now, which means you have a higher chance of success with the new business venture.
You can find business ideas in the things you are already passionate about or the opportunities you see on the market. The resources you would need to get the business off the ground are already widely available near you regardless of where you are based.
The rest should be easy from there. The time you spend working in countries like Thailand can be the time you earn enriching experiences.
